Clinical Focus:

Research Focus/Interests: We are genuinely curious about fundamental mechanisms underlying all the biological processes. A warehouse for such information is the chromatin where the genetic information exists. DNA and Histones, major constituents of chromatin, are subject to modifications such as methylation, physiologically, which play versatile roles in chromatin function and physiological/pathological processes. Our recent work focuses on the writing, reading and erasing of histone posttranslational modifications. There are functionally significant abnormalities in histone modifications in human diseases including cancer. Driven by the great clinical potential, we are devoted to rationalize such abnormalities, on top of which, we endeavor to develop new strategies for cancer diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
