Biography

From July, 2000 until now, Dr. Shi has served as Assistant, Lecturer and Associate Professor in the Department of Pathogen Biology, School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She received her Dr.med from the University of Ulm in Germany and studied the secretion system of Legionella pneumoniae from March, 2003 to June 2005. She then worked in the Institute of Medical Virology, School of Medicine, University of Essen, Germany from June 2005 to December 2005, studying the mechanism of Toll-like receptor signal transduction in HBV infection. From October 2009 to August 2010, she worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at St. Joseph’s Hospital, University of Arizona, USA, studying the mechanisms of signal transduction in host cells. She is now dedicated to the study of microbial-host interactions, including autophagy, tissue fibrosis and tumors.
