Biography

Prof. Ruan graduated from Tongji Medical University, and obtained her BS in Clinical Medicine in 1986. She completed her MS in Pathology from Tongji Medical University in 1989, and then became a teacher at the school for 2 years. She completed her PhD in Pathology from Tongji Medical University in 1995. After that, Dr. Ruan worked as a Lecturer from 1995 to 1998 at Department of Pathology, School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical University, and became an Associate Professor from 1999 to 2004 there. From 2004 up to now, she is a Professor at Department of Pathology, School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. During 1995 to 1996, Dr. Ruan was a Visiting Scholar at Fukushima Medical College in Japan. During 1996 to 1997, she engaged in Postdoctoral Research in University of Vienna in Austria. Prof. Ruan engages in teaching of Pathology, scientific research of Cardiovascular and breast diseases. Her research interests focus on the underlying pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Meanwhile, she deals with the works of clinicopathologic diagnoses, and specializes in pathologic diagnoses of the breast diseases. As of today, she has more than 70 published articles, one of which is cited more than 500 times.
