Clinical Focus: Diabetes therapy; Cancer therapy; COVID-19 detection

Research Focus/Interests: Dr. Chen mainly focuses on bio-inspired materials/devices for smart drug delivery and disease detection, especially for tumor and diabetes diagnostic and therapy. Dr. Chen has developed various formulations and devices, successfully reversing cancer drug resistance and achieving long-term diabetes therapy. Recently, facing the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Chen developed a new microneedle-based oropharyngeal swab to improve quality and quantity of virus collection, significantly enhancing COVID-19 detection.

Biography

Dr. Chen has published more than 10 first-author papers in high-quality journals including Nature Communications, Nano Letters, Nano Today, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, ACS nano, Journal of Controlled Release, Small, Chemical Communications, Matter and so on. Moreover, he has led four fundings and successfully applied for 3 patents. His work exhibited high translational potential in clinical application and draw increasing attention in both academic and industrial fields.
