On November 12, 2021, Kinesiology center, one of the three subcenters of Experimental Teaching Model Center, successfully updated its integrated intelligent bio-information acquisition and processing system of six laboratories. The upgradation cannot be smoothly completed without the administrative and financial support offered by equipment management office and Undergraduate School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In order to make sure that experimental teaching runs as normal, all staff members of Kinesiology center worked closely with the supplier, completing the installation and testing of new equipment as scheduled. The following pictures show a sharp contrast bewteen the old equipment and the new.
Backward teaching facilities lead to a lack of supervision over experimental teaching process and of objective assessment of teaching effectiveness, which makes it difficult to improve students' basic skills and independent learning ability. The integrated intelligent biological information acquisition and processing system well integrates animal model replication experiments and virtual simulation experiments, putting in place a perfect data platform that can offer strong data support throughout experimental teaching process.
After the completion of equipment upgrading, the subcenter especially invited the manufacturer's technical staff to instruct its faculty members and experimental staff to operate new equipment. Later, pathophysiological and pharmacological experiments are smoothly completed with the new equipment. Teachers and students came to a consensus that the new equipment is highly intelligent and simple to operate. It significantly improved the effectiveness of experiments, and made dynamic monitoring of the experimental process and interaction between different groups possible. Equipment upgrading enables medical students to directly experience the great significance of applying modern high-tech to medical education.
Presently, the center has upgraded half of its laboratories. Going forward, it will gradually upgrade teaching resources of all laboratories and make full use of the intelligent platform to carry out teaching activities on laboratory safety and standardized operation. By doing so, it strives to transform itself into an intelligent experimental center featuring advanced teaching philosophy, high-quality teaching resources and diversified teaching methods.
