Graduate students at School of Basic Medicine paid a visit to EasyDiagnosis

On November 24, 2021, School of Basic Medicine organized its graduate students to visit Wuhan EasyDiagnosis Biomedicine Co., Ltd where they can gain practical experience.

Established in Wuhan Optics Valley in 2008, Wuhan EasyDiagnosis Biomedicine Co., Ltd is a high-tech enterprise specializing in R&D, production and sales of In-Vitro Diagnostics reagents and auxiliary equipment in fields of POCT, chemiluminescence, blood gas analysis, molecular diagnosis, etc. Its co-founders, Dr. Lili CHEN and Dr. Ying WANG, are our alumnae and once worked in Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The clinical experiences enable them to profoundly learn that untimely diagnosis may lead to the loss of the best timing of treatment. Therefore, they decide to set up EasyDiagnosis after graduating from Heidelberg University as part of their efforts to deal with those clinical dilemmas.

Dr. Lili CHEN shared with students present why and how Dr. Ying WANG and she founded this company. Some students were wondering whether they should start from scratch in the future or join a well-developed platform? Dr. CHEN suggested that "it depends on whether or not its vision well matches your aspiration". She emphasized that basic medicine and translational medicine are of equal importance. What really matters is to choose your career based on your interest and aspiration. Besides, Dr. CHEN encouraged the young generation to always aim high, and more importantly, to be down-to-earth.

Students spoke highly of this experience from which they came to know the original aspiration of entrepreneurs. It enlightens them to plan their career out in advance and stimulates the young generation to contribute to the medical development of our country through science and technology.
